CMN to Produce Global Tour; Tickets for US Shows here

CHICAGO /PRNewswire/ — Cardenas Marketing Network (CMN) announced that tickets for all U.S. shows featuring five-time Grammy Award winner Marc Anthony and his highly anticipated 2010 U.S. Tour will go on sale Friday, July 30 at 10:00 a.m. via Ticketmaster outlets nationwide. Anthony will kick off his stateside tour at the Madison Square Garden in his native New York on September 10.

In addition to producing his U.S. tour, CMN is also producing Anthony’s Latin American tour, which kicks off today in Quito, Ecuador’s Estadio Atahualpa. That tour will take the pop star to cities throughout Peru and Colombia as well.

Released in May 2010, Anthony’s latest recording, “Iconos,” (“Icons”) marks the singer’s first studio production since 2004. The all ballad Spanish album produced by Anthony and Julio Reyes, peaked for seven weeks at # 1 in Billboard’s Top Latin Albums and includes eight titles of the singer’s favorite balladeers and two original songs — both written by Reyes and Anthony. These songs turned into classics by legendary artists such as Juan Gabriel, Jose Luis Perales, Jose Jose and Roberto Carlos are born again, now in Anthony’s unique, emotive style.

Marc Anthony has been awarded countless Standard gold and platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The list of Grammy accolades began with a 1998 Grammy for Best Latin/Tropical Performance for “Contra La Corriente,” followed with a 1999 Grammy for Song of the Year for “Dimelo” (“I Need to Know”). Driven in part by the crossover success of that smash single, “Marc Anthony,” his English language debut album, helped usher in 1999’s Latin pop explosion, and went on to achieve triple platinum status in the U.S. In 2005, Marc Anthony went home double fisted with a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album of the Year (“Amar Sin Mentiras”) and another Grammy for Best Tropical Album of the Year (“Valio la Pena”).

Anthony has also established a highly credible acting resume and may be seen in Martin Scorsese’s “Bringing Out the Dead” (1999); opposite Salma Hayek in the Showtime original film, “In the Time of the Butterflies” (2001); and appears with Denzel Washington and Christopher Walken in director Tony Scott’s “Man On Fire” (2004). He also appeared in the 1997 Paul Simon musical, “The Capeman.” He starred as the Puerto Rican salsa pioneer Hector Lavoe, with Jennifer Lopez, in the biopic, “El Cantante.” The Miami Dolphins minority owner was recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute in Washington D.C. in September 2009.
